I just recently saw your presentation for parents in South Sioux City. I really enjoyed your speech and the comments you had to get children to read were really interesting. Here's an idea for your site. You should have a page where kids and adults get to send in their great reads, or books that they think are good. There could be sections- Young Adult, Advanced Readers, Middle Readers, Beginning Readers, and Picture Books, and Nonfiction, etc. They would have to write what the book is about, what they learned, and if there's a website about the book or if the book has a website. Kids would have a chance to express themselves and share to other kids what books they like.

About the number of lighthouses - that is a great question, but hard to answer. There are lighthouses all over the world. Some are still working; some are falling apart; some have fallen in the sand. On ourlatest trip to the branch library across the street from our home, my children (she is 7,he is 5) and I came across WHO SEES THE LIGHTHOUSE, which the library had just acquired.WE LOVED IT! Hey, you came to my school Aldert Root Elementry School and talked to us about writing in the newspaper. You really inspried me. I hope you can come again sometime. Ann, I am the aunt that emailed you over the summer about my niece from Harney Elementry that had won as one of the lighthouse builders and how her picture was not posted. The school could not locate another picture, but I did take another one of her and the lighthouse over the summer. I apologize that I did not get it mailed.
